A Tour of Grottammare, Le Marche, Italy
This coastal town on Le Marche’s Adriatic coast has it all. Grottammare has a charming old town with historic houses, narrow cobbled streets and piazza’s that overlook the sea, and a long stretch of sandy family-friendly beach with shallow warm waters and a sea barrier made from rocks.
There are plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants in Grottammare’s newer section of town, at just a few minutes walk from the sea, making a Gelato or slice of pizza a viable option for a beach-day snack. Lining the beach is a large cycle path that links Grottammare with neighbouring towns, and an abundance of sea food restaurants, hotels and apartments.
