What could be better than sipping an espresso as you watch the sun rise over rolling hills, miles of vineyards, and in the distance, the azure waters of the Adriatic, from your own terrace in your own garden as the fresh scents of bougainvillea gently wake you up?
Or if (like me) you’re more of a night owl and prefer an aperitivo while watching the sun set over these sights, then that’s just as good too!

Whether you’re enjoying these vistas from your own vacation home in the Italian countryside, or experiencing them from a balcony or roof terrace that perches atop a honey-coloured medieval home, in this article we will explore the advantages to owning either.

Le Marche, with its vast mountain ranges, sunflower lined valleys, miles of farmland weaved together with narrow winding roads, and rows upon rows of olive trees and fields that stretch to the coast, is one of Italy’s lesser-know regions.
Set against the backdrop of the sparkling waters of the Adriatic, the region combines the scenic highlights of Tuscany, Como and Piedmonte with freshwater lakes, dramatic landscapes and blue flag beaches.
With surrounding vistas such as these, owning a country house in this part of Italy offers excellent potential in not only a tranquil, pinch-yourself existence, but a great investment should you want to rent out your property for some extra income.
There are an abundance of Tuscan-style farmhouses available in Le Marche, each in varying degrees of liveability, from ruins to perfectly completed casa’s.
